Homemade Apple Butter
Slow-cooker apple butter spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

Ingredients
- 3 lbs apples (approximately 8–10 medium), peeled, cored, and chopped
- ¼ cup apple cider
- 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Place the apples, apple cider, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and sea salt into a slow cooker.
Cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 4–5 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples are very soft.
Stir in the vanilla.
Using an immersion blender, purée until smooth.
For thicker apple butter, continue cooking uncovered for 30–60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cool completely before transferring to airtight jars.
